1. Internal bleeding/haemorrhage
Internal bleeding can occur as a result of stomach ulcers, ulcers in the duodenum, or tumours. Excessive bleeding may occur in a short period, but it is also possible for small amounts of blood to be lost over a longer period of time. You can also have blood loss without even noticing it. That can happen in disease of the stomach or intestines or when you take certain painkillers for a prolonged period. This is why certain pain relievers have a stomach protecting coating.
